Job Description:
This is a Limited Term position with the potential of becoming permanent. Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation employees applying for a lateral transfer to Pelican Bay State Prison MUST submit a completed lateral transfer packet and be scheduled for an interview (per DOM Section 33010.21.)Methods of appointment to be considered will include transfers and reinstatements. Applicants must have civil service eligibility. All applications will be reviewed; however, only the most competitive candidates will be interviewed.Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation employees applying for a lateral transfer to Pelican Bay State Prison MUST submit a completed lateral transfer package to be scheduled for an interview (per DOM Section 33010.21.)Under general direction of the Standard Compliance Coordinator, works in coordination with the Chief Dentist, serves as coordinator of a complex and highly sensitive dental delivery system in the Inmate Dental Services Program (IDSP). Coordinates the Perez remedial plan program planning, development, monitoring, evaluation, and improvement activities, and necessary tracking. Develops local operating procedures that bring health care programs in compliance with Perez and other court mandates as needed. Serves as the on-site expert on the Perez litigation, and IDSP Policies and Procedures. Provides ongoing technical assistance and training to custody and clinical staff on the remedial plan requirements and components, participating in problem solving sessions at a variety of levels to remove barriers to the remedial plan compliance as needed.Monitors program operational needs and the requirements for both clinical and custodial considerations in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the IDSP. Systematically collects data on program performance, including specific key indicators. Investigates program deficits, analyzes administrative problems related to program adherence, and makes recommendations for effective actions. Prepares reports and makes recommendations for program improvements, and implements the improvements as directed. Conducts periodic comprehensive audits using specified indicators and review tools. Develops quality improvement plans and oversees implementation of plans as necessary.Provides direction to institution staff in establishing proof of practice as mandated. Provides support to institution staff in managing and maintaining data applications, transfers, reports, compiles and coordinates the production of specific dental care indicator documents to court related parties, in compliance with existing court orders. Assists other program Analyst/Specialists as necessary regarding compliance issues in major litigation (Madrid, Plata, Coleman, Freitag).Serves as a liaison between headquarters staff and institution staff in relation to dental care issues as needed. Ensures the posting of documents in housing units and inmate Law Libraries in accordance with federal court orders, as necessary. Participates in Quality Improvement Teams, and Quality Improvement activities and meetings as necessary in order to provide guidance for compliance and improvements with the Perez remedial plan.
