Job Description: Come join a great team and enjoy FREE PARKING in a quiet Natomas location! We are a small team of enthusiastic and capable professionals working in a beautiful (newer) office. The Office of Training and Development (OTD) seeks an experienced analyst to take charge of the administrative functions of the office, including tracking/reporting a portion of the department’s large training budget, processing of contracts and procurements, personnel transactions, and may act as lead to one Office Technician. The DFG mission is to manage California's diverse fish, wildlife, and plant resources, and the habitats upon which they depend, for their ecological values and for their use and enjoyment by the public. The OTD supports the DFG mission by providing employees with critical knowledge, skills, capabilities, and competencies. Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, this position performs a wide variety of administrative duties to support OTD, including: tracking a large budget, preparing budget reports for management, entering budget-related data and expenditures in spreadsheets and tracking systems, purchasing, and developing several large contracts. Desirable qualifications include: knowledge of the state budget process and budget tracking systems, experience with the state contracting process and knowledge of contracting guidelines, CalCard experience, skill with Microsoft Office Excel. Other desirable qualifications include excellent writing, strong organizational skills, ability to work both independently and in a team environment, and professionalism/tactful communication.
