Job Description: Duties and Responsibilities: Under general direction of the Chief of Plant Operations; the Groundskeeper provides turf maintenance and construction, edges and mows lawns. Maintenance of trees, shrubs, and groundcovers. Keep grounds clean and orderly. Miscellaneous grounds related maintenance tasks. Supervise the work of resident helpers. Removes weeds by hand or with hoe; prepares and applies pesticides with power or backpack sprayer. Operates tillers, trimmers, chainsaws, weed-eaters, pole pruners, riding and push mowers, and miscellaneous hand and power equipment. Maintains service tools, vehicles and equipment. Prepares soil for planting lawns, flowers, shrubs, trees and groundcovers. Installs lawns, flowers, shrubs, trees and groundcovers. Application of pesticides, weed control and suppression. Repairs irrigation system leaks, digs up sprinklers and valves, replaces broken sprinklers, and adjust sprinkler. Programs irrigation controllers.
