Job Description: Incumbent supervises the Region’s Coachella Valley and Salton Sea Habitat Conservation staff in a wide variety of complex activities, including multi-species conservation planning , land acquisition planning, conservation banking, Salton Sea restoration, stream flow protection, land stewardship, Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreements, CEQA project review and analysis, CESA project review and document preparation, resource information and analysis, and biodiversity protection. Reviews and approves reports, analyses, and correspondence prepared by the habitat conservation staff; makes appropriate recommendations to the Regional Manager and EPM, as required. Interprets and disseminates the most difficult policy and procedure issues of the habitat conservation function. Develops budgets for the Region, supervises and manages personnel needs, individual work plans, team goals and objectives, activity scheduling, project assignments and deadlines, individual and group training, and evaluations for the function.
