Job Description: The incumbent works independently in the South Coast Region’s Habitat Conservation program to identify issues, develop courses of action, and conduct complex scientific investigations and studies on topics of major importance to the Department as trustee and responsible agency for fish and wildlife resources, related to the operation and maintenance activities of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) construction projects, maintenance activities, and habitat compensation and enhancement activities. and will work closely with one or more regional environmental review and compliance teams focused on a geographic area or technical issue.
