Job Description: Under the close supervision of the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor) the incumbent performs entry level technical duties involving program accounting and is responsible for the review of less difficult case assignment for accuracy and completeness making decisions based on facts and through the accurate interpretation and application of the California Unemployment Insurance Code. The incumbent utilizes the Single Client Data Base, Base Wage Data Base, and the Tax Accounting System. Ensures accurate and appropriate adjustments and documentation are complete for the various Claims Processing and Benefit Payment Control activities. The incumbent completes the less difficult adjustments and documents the information in the automated data systems and elevates more difficult cases as appropriate. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Strong analytical, customer service, and interpersonal communication skill are required. Applications will be screened and only the most qualified candidates will be interviewed. Eligible candidates are: Current state employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. **CANDIDATES WHOSE ELIGIBILITY IS BASED ON AN EMPLOYMENT LIST MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF THEIR EXAMINATION RESULTS, INDICATING THEIR TEST SCORE.** All interested applicants must submit a standard State Application Form STD 678 (with original signature), and must clearly indicate the basis of their eligibility in line item number 12 (explanation) of the STD 678.
