Job Description:
Under close supervision of the Patient Benefit and Insurance Officer II: Perform daily operation of the Cashier’s window and duties as bank teller for inpatient wards; balance cash drawer(s) daily. Receive Fee and A/A payments from residents, Reimbursements, and Estates. Answer telephone inquiries from residents, representative payees, conservators, and relatives of residents. Resolve customer complaints and problems. Ensure resident’s privacy is protected at all times. Post daily cash receipt(s) and disbursement transactions to General Ledger accounts. Reconcile cash control account daily and prepare daily bank deposits. Order cash from bank. Research discrepancies and post correcting entries as needed. Generate monthly computer reports for Supervisor. Maintain check logs and checking account registers for Post Fund, Member Trust Fund, Revolving Fund, and General Fund. Maintain accounting control records for encumbrances and expenditures. Maintain control of account codes and expenditure authorizations for donated accounts. Perform all specified payroll functions at the Home. Distribute master, overtime, and intermittent payroll warrants from Sacramento. Communicate and/or correspond with Human Resources on the release of warrants and problems with warrants. Type salary advance revolving fund checks. Maintain a proficient understanding of the Meditech computer system, spreadsheet applications, and Quickbooks. Provide back-up coverage or assistance in other areas of Accounting to maintain daily deadlines.
