Job Description: Manage a staff engaged in various complex accounting and systems activities including timesheet accounting for the entire department, and fiscal system applications. This includes planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the operations and activities of the above. Review and manage CALSTARS tables to confirm system structures for additions and changes in program organization, project, and funding, and for needs for additional detailed information and to control the CALSTARS tables to perform month-end and year-end closing activities. Monitor the development and processing of downloaded data and report generation for customized financial management reports. Develop and provide training modules to management and program staff regarding timesheet reporting and CALSTARS and management reports. Review and respond to audit reports and finding involving fiscal system and related issues. Develop and implement audit recommendations. Provides assistance to the accounting staff to help analyze and resolve complex CALSTARS issues. Qualified candidates must have eligibility for State employment, be in a reachable rank on an employment list for this classification, be currently in this classification, or have transfer eligibility to this classification.
