Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION The Sr. ESC is assigned to and responsible for management of the stand-alone Response Stations located in San Bernardino and Santa Clara County. The Sr. ESC will provide support to the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Authority Mobile Medical Assets program and act as field liaison during a state disaster medical response and is responsible for the readiness of field assets (equipment, vehicles, supplies, etc.), training of staff and volunteers, and the interface with all 58 counties prior to an event. During a disaster, the Sr. ESC will serve as the EMS Authority’s coordinator and liaison on-site with the affected County EMS Agency or the field level Incident Command to continuously assess, modify and refine the mission assignments for all deployed state assets or determine the need for additional resources.
SPECIAL PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Note: During emergency operations, may be required to work in EMSA’s Departmental Operations Center, other governmental Emergency Operations Centers or in EMSA’s field Mission Support Team to provide assistance in emergency response and recovery activities. Staff is required to complete emergency management and Incident Command System (ICS) training based on their respective roles in a response and participates in periodic departmental and statewide readiness drills and exercises. Under these emergency operations, staff need to work effectively and cooperatively under stressful conditions with short lead times; work weekends, holidays, extended and rotating shifts(day/night); and may be required to travel statewide for extended periods of time and on short notice. WHO SHOULD APPLY: Any state employee with current status in the above classification, persons with list eligibility, persons with lateral transfer eligibility from an equivalent class, or persons with reinstatement status.
