Job Description: The Clinical Social Worker works as a team member with other treatment disciplines; provides casewor and group work treatment for patients; assists program staff in evaluating patients' readiness for discharge or release; helps prepare patient for return to CDCR or discharge to another setting. Provides responses to requests from patients, family members, courts, and community agencies; provide social work services to family members and community agencies; consult with colleagues and other staff on behavior management treatment issues; prepare verbal and written social work reports and provide court testimony, as required by law and policy, which can be used in all legal jurisdictions; participate in professional meetings, committees, training and conferences and participate in research and Quality Assurance and Improvement (QA&I). The Clinical Social Worker performs dutis within the scope of his/her discipline, training and license, consistent with the Social Service Operations Manual and with the overall goals and objectives of the Program. Who May Apply: Persons currently in the classification eligible to transfer, lateral transfer, voluntary demotions, reinstatements, those eligible for appointment from a certification list, and employees on a SROA list or designated surplus.
