Job Description: Under the general supervision of the Accounting Officer (Supervisor), the Accounting Technician is responsible for auditing invoices and preparing claims schedules for payment. Must follow oral and written directions. Must be responsive to the needs of the public and employees of the Department and other agencies. Must be courteous, tactful and work cooperatively with others. Must analyze situations and take effective action using initiative, resourcefulness and good judgment. Essential Job Functions: Process Bank Draft Claim Schedules for payment. Post bank drafts in the Client Invoicing System (CIS). Identify and correct errors. Balance schedules to bank statement and revolving fund check. Process General Case Services invoices for payment. Audit invoices for compliance with the State Board of Control Rules and Regulations, State Administrative Manual, Rehabilitation Administrative Manual and Rehabilitation Directives. Post claim data accurately into the automated Client Invoicing System (CIS). Prepare claim schedule and remittance advices for submission to the State Controller’s Office. Analyze and research discrepancies and make necessary adjustments. Ongoing contact with departmental personnel for invoice clarification and correction of the more complex claims and schedules. Corresponds by telephone, e-mail or memorandum. Provides information and assistance to department personnel as needed. Applications must be received by 5pm on the final filing date.
