Job Description:
All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority. Under the general direction and supervision of a Supervising Tax Auditor II, the Business Taxes Specialist II (BTS II) serves as lead auditor over teams of experienced auditors on the most difficult and complex audits and actively participates in the conduct of these audits, typically consisting of the largest industrial corporations; makes audit appointments; interacts with tax managers, directors, partners of accounting firms, attorneys and corporate officers of the largest and most complex corporations in the world; explains the audit findings; and prepares accurate and complete audit reports. The BTS II is responsible for the overall management of these audits, as well as providing technical guidance and leadership to audit teams conducting the most difficult and complex audits which oftentimes involve emerging industries and/or controversial or precedent setting issues. The BTS II will conduct special projects, tasks and other job-related functions as necessary, which may include assisting the district reviewer. It is anticipated that a percentage of travel time (up to 25%) may be required. At management’s discretion this position may rotate into a BTS II audit review position. Meeting the training requirements for this job may require overnight travel for one or more days. The position is located in a high-rise building.
