Job Description: The Employment Development Department (EDD) is filling positions for California’s Operation Welcome Home CALVET CORPS Program. These positions are limited-term, as the Program is anticipated to run through December 31, 2010. The classification is Employment Program Manager I (EPM) and the position provides oversight to staff that provides Unemployment Insurance (UI) and employment program services to veterans and ensure veterans receive information critical to their transition from the military to civilian lives and careers. The position will plan, organize, direct and evaluate the Workforce Services Program activities and provide leadership for staff at multiple sites. The position will require working varying hours and/or week-ends. Extensive travel is required to manage staff in multiple sites. Who is eligible to apply: individuals with list eligibility from the State Examination for this classification, current state employees with transfer eligibility, and former state employees with reinstatement rights. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Interested applicants must submit a completed and signed State application (STD 678) along with a Statement of Qualifications, not to exceed 2 pages. The Statement of Qualifications should focus on recent Workforce Services experience describing how your experience has prepared you for success in a Workforce environment.
