Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Correctional Health Services Administrator II (CHSAII), the Radiologic Technologist will maintain a high level of x-ray services for the Institution; will assist in researching and implementation of procedures, which are cost effective; produces x-ray results in a reasonable length of time. Make radiologic exposures that are accurate using the minimum dosage while maximizing the quality of detail for radiological interpretation, utilizing coning and lead shielding whenever possible, keeping within compliance of California Radiation Control Regulations. Assists in scheduling radiographic examinations performed, exposures made, and any other tracking programs as needed. Maintains x-ray files, both current and inactive. Reviews Daily Movement Sheets (DMS) as well as Advanced Transfer Sheets (ATS) to ensure films go on the bus with patients. Maintain equipment to the degree qualified to do; ensures the equipment and both departments are clean. Assists in training of assistants in the training of hospital and Institutional procedures. Maintains control over keys and tools. Salaries will be adjusted accordingly to comply with the provisions of the current furlough program. Requirements (Minimum Qualifications): Possession of a current valid certificate as a certified Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic rediologic technology issued by the California State Department of Health Services is required. Once a significant candidate pool is received, an internal cutoff period will be established and interviews will be scheduled.
