Job Description: DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the Prison Industries Superintendent II, (Metal Products), the Industrial Supervisor, (Tool & Die), coordinates and supervises the activities of inmate workers in the production and repair of metalworking dies, jigs, gauges, fixtures, and cutting tools; applies knowledge of tool and die construction; supervises the use of all types of mills, grinders, drill presses and related support equipment; plans and schedules labor; responsible for quality control production controls, material estimates, tool control and procurement; supervises inmate workers maintaining discipline and good housekeeping; evaluates inmate performance; performs other duties as assigned including custodial searches, shakedowns and inmate counts.WORK SHIFT: Monday-Thursday, 0615-1615. REQUISITE SKILLS and ABILITIES: Experience in the production of metal products, blueprint reading, and shop math; good organization skills, flexibility and ability to work well under pressure. WHO MAY APPLY: Persons who are currently in this classification, or within lateral transfer range, or have list eligibility may be considered.
