Job Description: Under general supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist, the Research Analyst II (GIS) will assist in the analysis, operation, and management of the Department’s geographic information system in support of the Salton Sea Restoration Program. Duties include complex technical research and spatial analysis. This will involve maintaining detailed spatial databases, conversion of GIS data from various sources, advanced GIS queries and statistical analysis, developing metadata, map composition and production, and development and teaching of GIS and GPS training to staff. Also serve on and support various multidisciplinary teams of technical GIS and biological staff to employ geospatial methodologies and techniques to advance Department programs and projects. If you are not a state employee, you will need to have taken an RAII (GIS) state exam and be ranked in a reachable rank to be eligible for this position. Additional Information:
