Job Description: Under general direction of the Chief Engineer II: Under supervision, maintains and repairs a variety of building, building components, furniture, fitting and equipment as follows: Assists Stationary Engineer and trades-people in the on-going preventive maintenance of heating/ventilating equipment, building fittings and furnishing, locks, windows, doors, screens, venetian blinds roofs, gutters, drains, kitchen, equipment; replaces light bulbs and makes repairs to lighting. Occasionally operates automotive equipment and hauls materials; orders materials and supplies; makes reports on completed work; maintain tools, vehicle and shop area; confers with supervisor on projects and their progress. Assists in the performance of lubrication, repairs to sewage, water, cooling, plumbing and heating system lines and equipment. Make simple furniture repairs; installs and repairs asphalt tile and linoleum floors. Assists in repairing plaster and concrete; maintaining and repairing electrical lines, fittings and fixtures; assists in painting building, furnishing and equipment.Who Should Apply: Current State employees in this classification or those who are eligible on a certification list, transfers, or reinstatement may apply for this vacancy.
