Job Description: Under the supervision of the Correctional Case Records Manager, of Time Spent: this position performs the following duties: Coordinates records office functions and monitors systems, production and quality control and may have responsibility for a specialized records unit. Supervises and trains Correctional Case Records Specialists and supervisory clerical staff. As delegated by Correctional Case Records Manager, will represent State of California as an expert witness in court proceedings, interpreting legal and other documents. Serve on committees as assigned by the Correctional Case Records Manager. Participate in interview of applicants for records office positions. Render decisions at the informal level on inmate/parolee appeals. Provides technical assistance in the interpretation of difficult cases as it relates to the processing, maintenance and control of inmate/parolee records. Ongoing interaction with and training of institution/parole staff, law enforcement agencies public agencies and other judicial entities on highly technical issues.
