Job Description: DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Operates heavy compound transmission motor truck-tractors or trucks with semi-trailer equipment; performs related laboring work; coordinates pick-up and delivery of finished goods and raw materials to and/or from factories/warehouses; and does other work as required. Drives a heavy motor truck-trailer or heavy truck motor equipment; loads and unloads or supervises the loading and unloading of assigned equipment, limiting the load to a safe capacity. Has trucks serviced and checked at regular intervals, changes tires, makes emergency adjustments and reports defects to supervisor, keeps records and makes reports as required. WORK SHIFT: 4/10/40 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 0500-1500. REQUISITE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Persons appointed to this classification must possess a valid “Class A” license with a valid medical certificate with endorsement for hauling/pulling. This position is subject to the Department of Transportation (DOT) random drug/alcohol testing in accordance with Federal Law and will also be included in the Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) Employee Pull Notice (EPN) program. WHO MAY APPLY: Persons currently in the classification, or within lateral transfer range, or those with list eligibility may be considered.
