Under the general direction of the Senior Assistant Inspector General, Bureau of Independent Review, the incumbent will review and oversee the conduct of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in the most sensitive, complex, controversial or other high level investigations involving allegations of misconduct. The incumbent will apply sound investigative and litigation techniques to insure the thoroughness, fairness and timeliness of the disciplinary processes within this State entity. The incumbent will frequently travel to state custodial institutions and OIG headquarters in Sacramento. The incumbent will be appointed as a peace officer during the period of employment.
