The Public Health Nurse II, Correctional Facility, under general direction plans and provides public health nursing services for a State correctional facility; perform infectious disease skin testing and surveillance in a State correctional facility; provide technical assistance to the institutional staff in the implementation of infectious disease control policies and procedures; carry on health education and interpret public health standards to the institutional staff; confer with public health administrators and others and participate in conferences on community health problems; and may also serve in a lead capacity. May performs Health Care related duties consistent with the RN Scope of Practice. A detailed duty statement is available on request. **$1500 (one-time payment) – Upon completion of one (1) qualifying pay period; $1500 (one-time payment) – Upon completion of six (6) consecutive qualifying pay periods; $1000 (one-time payment) – Upon completion of 18 consecutive qualifying pay periods. New civil service employees (individuals hired from outside State service) appointed on or after 01/01/03 to a classification listed above and employed at any correctional institution, performing satisfactorily, shall be eligible to receive the appropriate recruitment differential upon completion of the specific qualifying and consecutive qualifying pay period(s). Salaries will be adjusted accordingly to comply with the provisions of the current furlough programs. “Per Governor's Executive Order #S-13-09, issued 07/01/2009, this position is subject to a pay reduction of 13.85% to facilitate the three furlough days named in the order, which is subject to end on 06/30/2010. Requirements (Minimum Qualifications): Possession of a current license as a Registered Nurse in California and a current certificate as a Public Health Nurse in California is required.
