Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Supervising Housekeeper II: Check goods received against purchase invoices, dray tickets, bills of lading, purchase orders, or requisitions; fill requisition and delivers supplies; wrap and package goods for shipment; prepare bills of lading showing proper shipping instructions; take physical inventories and keep perpetual inventory records of the quantities of stock on hand; keep shelves and goods clean and sees that stock is in the proper place and neatly arranged; notify superiors when stock becomes low; prepare stock received reports; replenish the stock on the shelves from a general store room as needed; segregate and stores goods; keep records of goods received and shipped; occasionally reconditions damaged stock; prepare reports of works done. Assist in unloading, checking, protecting, storing and moving materials in, around and from a warehouse or stock room; keep work and storage areas and equipment clean and orderly by removing waste materials and placing materials in their proper place; obtain, set up and replace loading equipment; keep shipping devices and supplies ready for use by filling devices with adhesive tape, water or wrapping paper; stock supplies as needed; learn to operate scales accurately and to complete records; learn the safe use and care of work aids including motorized forklifts; learn the function and processing of forms such as bills of lading, stock receipts, requisitions; load and unloads trucks and freight cars; learn palletizing methods, stock array systems and packaging standards and conventions; relay messages and carry paper work between work crews and work stations; help guide trucks to proper loading dock and opens and closes warehouse doors as required. Perform unskilled manual labor and relate work including but not limited to: pick and shovel work; clean gutters, culverts and other drainage structures; load and unload supplies; lift and move heavy objects; patch pavement; clean mechanical equipment; remove debris and clean away undergrowth; use spades, hoes and rakes; conduct rough repair work; assist in pruning, trimming and spraying trees and shrubbery; sweep designated areas, load docks and streets. Assist with the set-up and break down of events throughout the year to include seating of chairs, tables, podium, etc. Assist with the movement of resident belongings, furniture and equipment.
