Plans and coordinators inpatient and outpatient nursing care. Determines and implements staffing patterns which will assure optimum utilization of all nursing personnel and maintain standards of nursing care. Plans, conducts, and coordinates in-service training programs for nursing service personnel. Supervises orientation of all nursing service personnel. Formulates policies and procedures governing the performance of nursing staff and the delivery of nursing care to inmate-patients. Reviews documentation for completeness, appropriateness, and accuracy. Reviews, evaluates, and recommends requests for new equipment and discontinues use of outdated or inappropriate equipment. Serves as a member of the Exposure Control Committee; monitors surveillance and education for exposure control issues. Serves as a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee. Recruits, interviews, and recommends hiring of nursing service personnel. Attends all meetings, training, and seminars as needed or required. Performs other supervisory and administrative duties as directed by the Health Care Manager. Additional Information:
