Job Description: Under the direction of the Pharmacist II, the Pharmacist I provides the professional services of a pharmacist. This includes preparing prescription orders, maintaining patient medication profiles and legally required documentation. Receive and interpret prescription orders, type labels, maintain medication profiles, fill and dispense prescription orders to nursing areas. Fill cassettes for inmates who are inpatients in the Correctional Treatment Center (CTC) and maintain profiles for these inmates. Maintain records for controlled substances and fill requests for controlled substances from nursing areas. Work with Medical Department staff to clarify prescription orders and to resolve problems related to drug therapy. Other related duties as required.
