Job Description: *DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Prison Industries Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the overall operational performance of the Bindery enterprise that manufactures loose-leaf binders, folios, diploma covers, C-files, soft signs and safety vests. In performing these duties the incumbent supervises four industrial supervisors, and approximately 117 Level II/III inmate workers; The incumbent coordinates the planning and scheduling labor; purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment needed for production; uses the EPRLx computer system for manufacturing purposes; responsible for, quality, inventory, cost control; ensures safety and personnel development; processes procurement; oversees the maintenance of equipment; responsible for selecting, training, supervising and evaluating staff; prepares budgets, and maintains records and on production, and inventories; initiates correspondence and reports; holds safety and supervisor meetings. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining order and supervising the conduct of persons committed to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR); preventing escapes; maintaining the security of work materials and work areas; implementing CDCR CALPIA rules and regulations. WORK SHIFT: Monday-Thursday 0615-1615. REQUISITE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Prior ERPLx experience, bindery manufacturing experience, and supervisor experience.
