Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Supervising Counsel, the Office Technician (Typing) provides administrative and technical support for the counsel staff in the San Francisco office of the Securities Regulation Division. Incumbent must exercise a high degree of independent technical skills; good judgment and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff. Duties include: Maintain and organize franchise registration and securities files; inputs and retrieves information from electronic data bases and generates reports using data base information; photocopies and/or scans records and files, and coordinates work processing with other areas; with minimal direction, types, edits, revises, reformats, and proofreads legal documents, permits, orders, reports, memoranda, letters in accordance with legal requirements, standards, and time frames; and responds to correspondence; and screens incoming telephone calls and responds to non-technical and non-legal questions or refers calls to other functional areas. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: • Excellent attendance and dependability • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing • Good organizational skills; ability to adjust to shifting priorities and meet deadlines • Familiarity with personal computers utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, etc • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships WHO MAY APPLY: Employees currently at the Office Technician (Typing) level, those within transfer range or have list eligibility who are reachable (in the top three ranks), & employees with surplus or SROA status at the Office Technician (Typing) level are encouraged to apply.
