Job Description:
THIS VACANCY IS OPEN TO GEN REEMPLOYMENT SROA/SURPLUS CANDIDATES AND ANY STATE EMPLOYEE, FORMER STATE EMPLOYEES WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO TRANSFER OR MAY BE REACHABLE ON AN ELIGIBILITY LIST. IF INTERESTED, PLEASE SUBMIT A COMPLETED STATE APPLICATION FORM (STE. 678) AND CURRENT RESUME. This is the full supervisory level in the series where the majority of the time is spent on administrative and supervisory activities. Positions at this level supervise a group of professional or analytical and semiprofessional accounting staff performing accounting and other fiscal related work or direct a variety of specialized or central control fiscal activities, typically throughsubordinate supervisors at the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) level. Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities; Four year degree with a major in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus; Proficient knowledge of State Fund’s fiscal guidelines and procedures; Proficient knowledge of general accounting principles and practices as it applies to a fiscal department in a multi-functional government entity; Proficient/Expert knowledge of basic arithmetic principles (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) to prepare and review accuracy of financial date; Working knowledge of verbal communication techniques to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals (e.g., managers, staff, customers, public, Executive Office) conversing and questioning as dictated by the situation at hand; Working knowledge of supervisory and management principles, practices and techniques to oversee the work activities of subordinate supervisors and/or subordinate staff to ensure the operation functions effectively; Working knowledge of Project Management and ability to manage corporate-wide or departmental projects; Working knowledge of work process improvement methodology to ensure efficiency within assigned operations; Skill to develop strategic and tactical plans to implement the goals, objectives and strategies of the assigned accounting and/or fiscal operation/function; Skill to guide supervisors in applications of effective human resources management; Ability to work within tight and/or competitive timelines to complete projects or assignments; Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously to complete projects or assignments; Ability to lead by positive example to effectively achieve operational goals in line with corporate objectives; Ability to maintain high ethical standards in completing all assignments to maintain integrity of State Fund and build trusting relationships with staff.
