The Fiscal and Investment Services Department currently has a vacancy for an Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) ($5,079-$6,127). Positions at this level supervise a group of professional or analytical and semiprofessional accounting staff performing accounting or accounting and budgetary work and directing a variety of specialized or central control fiscal activities. Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Four year degree with a major in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus. Proficient knowledge of general accounting principles and practices as it applies to a fiscal department in a multi-functional government entity. Working knowledge of verbal communication techniques to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals (e.g., managers, staff, customers, public, Executive Office) conversing and questioning as dictated by the situation at hand. *Knowledge of principles of organization and administration, *Knowledge of office methods, procedures, and business law,*Knowledge of research techniques, statistical methods, *Knowledge of information systems/applications,*Knowledge of Project Management.Working knowledge of supervisory and management principles, practices and techniques to oversee the work activities of subordinate supervisors and/or subordinate staff to ensure the operation functions effectively. Skill to guide supervisors in applications of effective human resources management,*Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relations with those contacted in the work,*Ability to be flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, work assignments and other interruptions to effectively respond to demanding situations and to complete projects and assignments,*Ability to lead by positive example to effectively achieve operational goals in line with corporate objectives,*Ability to maintain high ethical standards in completing all assignments to maintain integrity of State Fund and build trusting relationships with staff.
