Job Description: HEADQUARTERS ACCOUNTING OFFICE DUTY STATEMENT TITLE: ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN POSITION NUMBER:510-1741-020 WORK SETTING: This position works in the Sacramento Accounting Office. The SAO is a large, complex accounting office, recording transactions to multiple funding sources, 11 different budgetary programs, and approximately 400 organizational units within the 33 Division/Office allotments, 8 Institutions and Inmate Welfare Fund. Under the supervision of an Accounting Officer Supervisor, the position will process Accounts Payable Payments using the business procedures involved with Payment Processing and Check Management within SAP. The position will be responsible for reviewing and assembling claim schedules and processing and distribution of checks CONTACT WITH OTHERS: The incumbent in this position has limited contact with all levels of program staff, Control Agencies, vendors and employees. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: The incumbent in this position does not supervise but may act as a lead. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: This position receives close, direct supervision from the Accounting Officer, Supervisor. 65% Processing the revolving fund checks for SAO & Institutions Salary Advances in the SAP system. Print the checks prepare the check register log and check log. Maintain the check register and check log. 20% Process the replenishment claims schedules to SCO in the SAP system. Also process cancel check requests, stop payment of checks for the 057 and 158 accounts. 10% Act as a backup for vendor check payments, travel (057 account) check payments and release checks for Gate money. Will also help vendor invoices processing in the SAP system and assembling claim schedules. 5% Participate in training and special projects.
