Job Description: Under the supervision of the Supervising Cook I, the Cook Specialist II prepares, cooks and dispenses food for the residents of a state institution; cares for culinary equipment, supplies and work areas. Who May Apply: Persons currently in the classification eligible to transfer, lateral transfer, voluntary demotions, reinstatements, those eligible for appointment from a certification list, and employees on a SROA list or designation surplus. How To Apply: Interested individuals should submit a STD 678, Examination and/or Employment Application (Rev. 08/09 or later) to the address below. Please indicate your eligibility in box 12 of the application. Surplus applicants must attach a copy of their letter. The STD 678 can be assessed through the SPB website at www.spb.ca.gov.
