Job Description: The DMH Vacaville Psychiatric Program (VPP) is located within the California Medical Facility (CMF Department of Corrections). The Program consists of a licensed 150-bed Acute Psychiatric Program, a licensed 76-bed Intermediate Care Facility, and a 44-bed Day Treatment Program. Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Staff Psychiatrist provides psychiatric services to patients and provides leadership to a multi-disciplinary treatment team. In addition to the need for current diagnostic and treatment skills, there is also a necessity for the Staff Psychiatrist to understand the criminal justice system and participate in medical /legal determinations and proceedings.
