Job Description: ***WHO MAY APPLY: Eligible candidates who are current State employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former State employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. All interested applicants must submit a standard State Application Form STD 678 (with original signature), the position number must included on the application being submitted,and must clearly indicate the basis of their eligibility in line item number 12 (explanation) of the STD 678. Surplus candidates must submit copy of surplus letter. RELATED TO THE PROVISION OF MEDICAL AND NURSING CARE OF INMATE/PATIENTS IN A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY; MAINTAINS ORDER AND SUPERVISES THE CONDUCT OF INMATES; MAINTAINS AND PROTECTS THE SAFETY OF PERSONS AND PROPERTY; AND DOES OTHER RELATED WORK AS ASSIGNED BY A SUPERVISOR. ASSISTS PHYSICIANS IN MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS BY PERFORMING SUCH TASKS AS TAKING AND RECORDING PORTIONS OF MEDICAL HISTORIES, HEIGHT, WEIGHT, AND VITAL SIGNS, COLLECTING OF LABORATORY SPECIMENS. PROVIDES BEDSIDE NURSING CARE IN ORGANIZED NURSING UNITS. ASSISTS WITH PROCESSING OF SICK LINE IN OUTPATIENT CLINICS. PROVIDES EMERGENCY FIRST AID AND CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION.
