Job Description: The DMH Vacaville Psychiatric Program (VPP) is located within the California Medical Facility (CMF Department of Corrections). The Program consists of a licensed 150-bed Acute Psychiatric Program, a licensed 76-bed Intermediate Care Facility, and a 44-bed Day Treatment Program. We are seeking qualified individuals interested in a full-time position as a Rehabilitation Therapist (Art-Safety). The Rehabilitation Therapist works within Interdisciplinary Teams in providing evaluation and treatment services to mentally ill patients who are referred by the Department of Corrections. The Rehabilitation Therapist works within a forensic setting providing therapeutic treatment groups, is an active participant in the Interdisciplinary Team, conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, evaluates and documents patients’ progress and participates in professional service meetings. Minimum qualifications for employment include: Possession of a Bachelors Degree with major work in art therapy and completion of an approved clinical internship at a site affiliated with the college; applicants who have not completed a clinical internship because it was not a component of the academic program at the time, are required to have completed a minimum of two years full-time paid experience in a clinical, residential, or community-based setting after receipt of the required degree.
