Job Description: The Hospital Police Department has several vacancies currently available. Minimum qualifications include equivalent to completion of the 12th grade and possession of a current PC832 certificate. The HPO is required to perform law enforcement duties in close proximity to mentally ill patients. Duties include maintaining law and order on hospital grounds; patrolling and protecting hospital buildings & grounds; checking for unauthorized movement of patients; breaches of security, and unsafe conditions; conducting administrative & criminal investigations; making arrests; testifying in court; & enforcing vehicle traffic & parking regulations & issuing citations when necessary. Incumbents also monitor patient & visitor activities on hospital grounds; assist nursing personnel in controlling severely combative patients. TESTING FOR THIS CLASSIFICATION IS CONSIDERED CONTINUOUS AS EXAMINING DATES MAY BE SET AT ANY TIME. Additional Information:
